ALVIE coach Luke McLennan believes the experience given to the club's younger players will put the Swans in a good position for next season. The Swans' season finished on Saturday after they were defeated by Irrewarra-Beeac by 18 points in wet and windy conditions at Colac's Western Oval. The Bombers now progress through to the Grand Final for a chance at back-to-back premierships when they take on Birregurra next Saturday at Central Reserve. Whilst the Bombers were celebrating making their fourth consecutive grand final, McLennan remained positive on the Alvie's prospects for next season. "We have bought a lot of kids through into our senior side this year," McLennan said. "Playing finals in a high pressure atmosphere in big games will put them in good stead for next season." McLennan said he was proud with the way his side fought the match out against the reigning CDFL premier. "(Our kids) have a good lot of heart and I can't see why they could not keep improving next year," McLennan said. Irrewarra-Beeac had further reason to celebrate, with the successful return of coach Dan Casey. Casey, a key forward for the Bombers, moved freely in his return match after injuring his back in the final round of the CDFL home-and-away season against Lorne. He kicked two goals and had several goal assists to put his team in a commanding position heading into the grand final. However, both sides will be full of confidence heading into the biggest match of the season, with Birregurra defeating the Bombers in the semi-final last weekend.
